Novena to Jesus, the Divine Master, the Way and the Truth.
By Blessed James Alberione, Founder of the Pauline Family.
DAILY PRAYER
Jesus, Divine Master,
we know that you are Truth
and that you teach the Way of God
according to the Truth,
grant that we may learn your knowledge and wisdom
and that walking in the way of the Gospels,
we reach Eternal Life.
You who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
DAY ONE
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: John 14:6-7, 12
Jesus said to him,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father but through Me...
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father...
Truly, truly, I say to you,
he who believes in Me,
the works that I do,
he will do also;
and greater works than these he will do;
because I go to the Father.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we adore you as the Word Incarnate,
sent by the Father to teach mankind the truth that gives life.
You are the uncreated truth, the only teacher.
"Only you have the words of eternal life."
We give you thanks for granting us the light of reason and faith
and for having called to us the light of glory.
We believe and are open with our whole being to live your Word,
of which you teach us by means of your Church.
Show us, Lord and Teacher,
the treasures of your wisdom.
Grant that we get to know the Father
and become authentic disciples of yours.
Increase our faith,
so that after following faithfully,
we may enjoy the vision of your Glory.
Jesus, Divine Teacher,
sanctify my mind
and increase my faith.
DAY TWO
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: John 14:23-27
Jesus answered and said to him,
“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word;
and My Father will love him,
and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
“He who does not love Me does not keep My words;
and the word which you hear is not Mine,
but the Father’s who sent Me.
These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things,
and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Peace I leave with you;
My peace I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled,
nor let it be fearful.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we adore you as the beloved Son of the Father,
object of his satisfaction,
the only way to the Father.
We give you thanks because you present to us
the way that we should follow
and invite us to walk following you
to the plentitude of love.
With simplicity, we wish to follow your foot steps
to learn from you to see, judge and act.
Draw us to yourself,
in the manner that renouncing our own will,
we seek the will of the Father in all things.
Increase our hope.
Help us reproduce your image in our life
so that we can have you always in heaven
Jesus, way of holiness,
grant that I follow in your footsteps.
DAY THREE
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: John 15:1-5
I AM the true vine;
and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me, that beareth not fruit, he will take away:
and every one that beareth fruit, he will purge it,
that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now you are clean by reason of the word,
which I have spoken to you.
Abide in me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
unless it abide in the vine,
so neither can you, unless you abide in me.
I am the vine; you the branches:
he that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same beareth much fruit:
for without me you can do nothing.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we adore you as the only Begotten Son of God,
come into the world to give mankind the fullness of Life.
We give you thanks because dying on the cross,
you merited for us eternal life,
which you give us in Baptism.
Nourish us through the Eucharist
and the other sacraments.
Live within us, Jesus, by your Spirit,
so that we love you with all our being
and love our neighbor as ourselves, in your love.
Grant that we grow in that love so that one day,
resurrected, we can participate with you
in the joy of your Kingdom.
Jesus Life, live in me so that I live in thee
and do not permit me to be separated from thee.
DAY FOUR
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: John 15:7-13
If you abide in me,
and my words abide in you,
you shall ask whatever you will,
and it shall be done unto you.
In this is my Father glorified;
that you bring forth very much fruit,
and become my disciples.
As the Father hath loved me,
I also have loved you.
Abide in my love.
If you keep my commandments,
you shall abide in my love;
as I also have kept my Father's commandments,
and do abide in his love.
These things I have spoken to you,
that my joy may be in you,
and your joy may be filled.
This is my commandment,
that you love one another,
as I have loved you.
Greater love than this no man hath,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we adore you living in the Church,
universal sacrament of salvation.
Confirm ever more the entire Church in holiness.
Assist the Pope and the Bishops;
sanctify the priests, the consecrated,
and the entire people of God.
Lord Jesus, we make our own your desire:
"That there be one flock under one shepherd."
In this way, we could be united in the one family of God.
Jesus, Divine Teacher,
who teaches in the Church,
draw us all to your school.
DAY FIVE
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: (John 15:14-16)
“You are My friends
if you do what I command you.
“No longer do I call you slaves,
for the slave does not know what his master is doing;
but I have called you friends,
for all things that I have heard from My Father
I have made known to you.
“You did not choose Me but I chose you,
and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit,
and that your fruit would remain,
so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name
He may give to you.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we adore you with the angels
who announced the fruit of your incarnation:
"Glory to God and peace to mankind."
We give you thanks because you have called us
to participate in your mission.
Spark in us the same love for your Father and mankind.
And fill us totally with yourself.
Live within us so that we bring you to others
by means of the apostolate of prayer,
by witness, by suffering, and social communications.
Lord, send good laborers to your vineyard.
Enlighten those who spread the Gospel
with the spoken and written word,
and by means of mass communication.
Instill in them the Holy Spirit.
Make people open to receive its message.
Come, Teacher and Lord!
Teach and reign over this entire world
by means of Mary, our Mother, Teacher, and Queen.
DAY SIX
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we recognize you as the only Teacher of humanity
and we adore you.
We give you Thanks for the great gift of the Gospels.
You have said, "I have come to bring good news to the poor."
Your words are words of eternal life,
revealing in the Gospels the divine mysteries,
teaching the sure path to God
and offering the means of salvation.
Grant us the grace to always keep your Word like the Virign Mary,
of understanding the Gospels
according to the spirit of the Church
and proclaiming it with the same love
with which you preached it.
Make everyone know it.
That the economic and political systems,
the wide field of culture,
of civilization and development,
be according to the Gospels.
That the Word quickly enkindle in all the fire
that you brought to earth to illuminate and warm all.
Jesus, Divine Master,
free me from error,
useless thoughts,
and eternal darkness.
DAY SEVEN
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: John 3:16-18
“For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish,
but have eternal life.
“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world,
but that the world might be saved through Him.
“He who believes in Him is not judged;
he who does not believe has been judged already,
because he has not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son ofGod."
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
we adore you as Emanuel,
God with us.
We give you thanks for the great gift of the Eucharist.
Only your love has moved you
to be our host in the tabernacle,
to reenact in the holy Mass your Passion and death,
transforming yourself into the nourishment
of our lives though Communion.
Grant that I know you, my hidden God,
and that I always drink the wholesome waters
from the fountain of your heart.
Grant me the grace to be able to visit you daily in this Sacrament,
that I participate in the holy Mass
and understand it,
and that I approach communion with devotion and faith.
Jesus, the Way, grant that I become
an authentic witness before mankind.
DAY EIGHT
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: John 19:25-27
“But standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother,
and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus then saw His mother,
and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby,
He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!”
From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master,
Son of Mary,
we adore you.
We thank you for giving us Mary as mother,
Teacher and Queen.
From the cross you entrusted us to her care,
giving her a great heart, wisdom and power.
Grant all mankind to know her,
love her and call upon her
and that she take all to you,
Savior of humanity.
I give myself to Mary,
as you gave yourself to her.
I wish to stay always with her, now,
in the hour of my death,
and for all eternity.
Mary, grant that all mankind
follow the Divine Teacher, Way, Truth and Life.
DAY NINE
O Jesus Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life,
R/ Have mercy on us.
Say the Daily prayer.
Gospel Reading: Luke 6:27-31
“But I say to you who hear,
love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you.
“Whoever hits you on the cheek,
offer him the other also;
and whoever takes away your coat,
do not withhold your shirt from him either.
“Give to everyone who asks of you,
and whoever takes away what is yours,
do not demand it back.
“Treat others the same way you want them to treat you."
Prayer
Jesus, Divine Master, we adore you
as the Author and Creator of the whole universe.
All of it is a participation of your Wisdom, Power, and Goodness.
We give you thanks because you have given everything
to elevate our present life,
as a preparacion for eternal life.
Blessed are you, Lord,
fount of all knowledge that has illuminated the minds of people
to discover the new audiovisual technologies of film,
radio, television and media.
These noble technologies have as its end the diffusion of culture,
the good and Christian civilization.
However, human freedom can turn these goods
into vehicles of error and vice.
Jesus, Divine Master,
send your Spirit to governmental leaders,
producers, artists, technicians,
and propagandists of media technologies
so that with their labor
they give you glory and serve humanity.
Instill in the listeners and viewers
the gift of knowledge and fortitude
so that in using the social communication media
they will know to distinguish between good and evil,
truth and error.
That these means always spread the truth,
the good, justice and peace.
Jesus, Divine Master,
the Way, Truth and Life,
that all creatures praise you.
Prayer.
O Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
we are grateful, along with the entire Church,
to Christ, the Divine Master, Way, Truth, and Life,
for the treasures of holiness, light, and grace
that you have given to your faithful servant,
the priest Santiago Alberione,
who, in the example of St. Paul,
has preached the Gospels in the whole world
with the instruments of social communication.
Grant the grace to know and imitate his virtues
and glorify him here on earth
with the end of protecting all those who work in the media
in preparing for the coming of Jesus Christ.
Obtain too, by his intercession,
the grace that I now ask...
Mary, Queen of the Apostles,
consolidate my supplications with your maternal intercession.
Glory Be to the Father...
Novena to Mary, Queen of the Apostles
DAY ONE
"I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel" (Gen 3:15).
Through God's loving foresight,
Mary was placed, so to speak,
on a path different from that on which
all the common children of Eve,
born with original sin,
entered the world.
The new path is that of the redeemed.
The light of the cross illumined Mary's conception,
infancy and youth.
Thus, she was worthy to be blessed among women.
Together let us honour Mary Immaculate,
Queen of Apostles,
and ask her to give Jesus Master,
Way, Truth and Life,
to all of us and to all people on earth.
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY TWO
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you;
therefore the child to be born will be holy;
He will be called Son of God" (Lk 1:35).
The grace in a soul is like a root
from which a plant develops with its branches,
leaves, flowers and fruits.
Virtues grow in a soul in proportion to grace.
Thus, we understand why
Mary reached the highest degree of virtue and holiness:
because she was full of grace.
She possessed the theological,
cardinal and moral virtues,
the beatitudes
and the fruits of the Holy Spirit
to an eminent degree.
Mary is full of grace,
the creature most intimate with God,
the Blessed Mother
who gives Jesus to us
and helps us to love him.
She makes us conceive a great fear of sin
and of dangerous occasions.
She inspires in us the desire for purity and for sacrifice.
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY THREE
"She gave birth to her firstborn Son
and wrapped him in bands of cloth,
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no place for them in the inn" (Lk 2:7).
Mary fulfills her apostolate:
to give Jesus to the Father,
to humanity, to heaven.
She presented Jesus to the Gentiles,
represented by the Magi
who came to the crib in Bethlehem.
Mary always gives Jesus.
She is like a fruitful branch.
She always carries Jesus
and offers him to us:
the Way, the Truth and the Life of humanity.
Let us pray to Mary,
the Mother of the infant Jesus,
that through her maternal intercession
we may all welcome the message from the crib:
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace among those whom he favours!" (Lk 2:14).
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY FOUR
"This child is destined for the falling
and the rising of many in Israel,
and to be a sign that will be opposed...
and a sword will pierce your own soul too" (Lk 2:34-35).
Jesus Christ saw Mary at the foot of his cross,
sharing in His passion.
The Christian possesses an inexhaustible strength
and is able to endure great sufferings without breaking.
In suffering, a person can attain great nobility of character;
indeed, suffering becomes a real apostolate.
Let us always trustfully invoke Mary:
"Pray for us,
now and at the hour of our death."
All to Mary, from Mary, with Mary.
She shows everyone on earth her Son.
Let us pray:
"After this our exile,
show to us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus."
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY FIVE
"His mother treasured all these things in her heart" (Lk 2:51).
The presentation of the Lord enlightens us
to live in holiness,
detachment from worldly things,
and purity of thoughts and actions.
The child Jesus enters the temple,
takes possession of it
and will live in the Eucharist until the end of time.
Once we have known our vocation,
we must follow it
and live it faithfully until we are called to heaven.
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY SIX
"Standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother,
and his mother's sister,
Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary Magdalene" (Jn 19:25).
Let us look at Jesus,
He sacrificed himself on the cross.
Let us look at Mary,
she shared Christ's mission and passion with Him.
The essence of the redemption is on Calvary,
Jesus offers himself;
Mary offers herself and her Son,
whom she loves more than herself.
Jesus is the Redeemer;
Mary, the co-redemptrix.
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY SEVEN
"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple
whom he loved standing beside her,
he said to his mother,
'Woman, here is your son.'
Then He said to the disciple,
'Here is your mother'" (Jn 19:26-27).
When human perversity had reached its height
and had brought about the death of our Lord;
when the Shepherd was smitten
and the entire flock
of apostles and faithful were dispersed,
Jesus Christ offered hope,
salvation, his Mother:
"Here is your mother" (Jn 19:26).
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY EIGHT
"All these were constantly devoting themselves to prayer,
together with certain women,
including Mary the mother of Jesus,
as well as his brothers" (Acts 1:14).
It is clear that we have to consider
and follow Mary as our model.
She is the most holy Virgin,
the co-redemptrix and the Queen of Apostles.
She offered Jesus on Calvary,
and together with the apostles
she prayed in the cenacle to obtain the Holy Spirit.
She took care of the Church,
newly born and already persecuted.
As Mother of the Church,
she became the outstanding member
of the Mystical Body of Christ.
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.
DAY NINE
"Mary Immaculate,
the ever-virgin Mother of God,
having finished the course of her earthly life,
was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory" (Pius XII, November, 1950).
After the death of her Son, Jesus,
Mary took care of the apostles,
especially St. John, the youngest.
She accompanied them with her prayers,
good example and maternal comfort.
Thus, Jesus willed that Mary
be with them during their first years of evangelization,
as she had accompanied him.
After her earthly pilgrimage,
her mission fulfilled,
she was assumed into heaven.
Let us think about the last day of the world.
All the elect will gloriously enter heaven,
body and soul;
thus they will have an eternal reward.
Reflection and Resolution
Prayer:
O God, you sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles
as they were united in prayer with Mary,
the Mother of Jesus.
May the Queen of Apostles,
the same Mother of us all,
help us to serve your majesty faithfully,
and to spread the glory of Your Name
by word and example.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"Our Father..."
"Hail Mary..."
"Glory be..."
Queen of Apostles,
R/ Pray for us.

in our behalf will be graciously heard before the throne of God.
O glorious St. Joseph,
through the love you bear to Jesus Christ
and for the glory of His name,
hear our prayers
and obtain our petitions.
Amen.
DAY ONE
O great St. Joseph,
with feelings of unlimited confidence,
we beg you to bless this novena that we begin in your honor.
"You are never invoked in vain" says the seraphic St. Theresa of Jesus.
Be you then to me
what you have been to that spouse of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
and graciously hear me as you did her.
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY TWO
O blessed Saint Joseph,
tenderhearted father,
faithful guardian of Jesus,
chaste spouse of the Mother of God,
we pray and beseech you to offer to God the Father,
His divine son,
bathed in blood on the Cross for sinners,
and through the thrice holy name of Jesus
obtain for us of the eternal Father
the favor for which we implore your intercession...
(State your request here...)
Amid the splendors of eternity,
forget not the sorrows of those who pray,
those who weep;
stay the almighty arm which smites us,
that by your prayers and those of your most holy spouse,
the Heart of Jesus may be moved to pity and to pardon.
Amen
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY THREE
Blessed St. Joseph,
enkindle in our cold hearts a spark of your charity.
May God be always the first
and only object of our affections.
Keep our souls always in sanctifying grace and,
if we should be so unhappy as to lose it,
give us the strength to recover it immediately
by a sincere repentance.
Help us to such a love of our God
as will always keep us united to Him.
Amen.
O glorious St. Joseph,
through the love you bear to Jesus Christ
and for the glory of His name,
hear our prayers
and obtain our petitions
(State your request here...)
DAY FOUR
Saint Joseph, pride of Heaven,
unfailing hope for our lives,
and support of those on earth,
graciously accept our prayer of praise.
You were appointed spouse of the chaste Virgin
by the Creator of the world.
He willed that you be called "father" of the Word
and serve as agent of our salvation.
May the triune God who bestowed upon you heavenly honors,
be praised forever.
And may He grant us through your merits
the joy of a blessed life
and a favorable answer to our petition.
(State your request here...)
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY FIVE
O holy St. Joseph,
what a lesson your life is for us,
ever so eager to appear
so anxious to display before the eyes of men
the graces that we owe entirely to the liberality of God.
In addition to the special favor for which we plead in this novena...
(State your request here...)
grant that we may attribute to God the glory of all things,
that we may love the humble and hidden life,
that we may not desire any other position
than the one given us by Providence
and that we may always be a docile instrument in the hands of God.
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY SIX
O glorious Saint Joseph,
appointed by the Eternal Father
as the guardian and protector of the life of Jesus Christ,
the comfort and support of His Holy Mother,
and the instrument in His great design
for the redemption of mankind;
you who had the happiness of living with Jesus and Mary,
and of dying in their arms,
be moved with confidence we place in you,
and procure for us from the Almighty,
the particular favor which
we humbly ask through your intercession...
(State your request here...)
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY SEVEN
O faithful and prudent Saint Joseph,
watch over our weakness
and our inexperience;
obtain for us that prudence which reminds us of our end,
which directs our paths and which protects us from every danger.
Pray for us, then, O great Saint,
and by your love for Jesus and Mary,
and by their love for you,
obtain for us the favor we ask in this novena...
(State your request here...)
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY EIGHT
O blessed Joseph,
to whom it was given not only to see
and to hear that God whom many kings longed to see and saw not;
to hear and heard not;
but also to carry Him in your arms,
to embrace Him, to clothe Him,
and to guard and defend Him,
come to our assistance and intercede with Him
to look favorably on our present petition.
(State your request here...)
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
DAY NINE
O good Saint Joseph, help us to be like you,
gentle to those whose weakness leans on us;
help us to give to those who seek our aid,
succor that they may journey unafraid.
Give us your faith,
that we may see the right shining above the victories of might.
Give us your hope that we may stand secure,
untouched by doubting, steadfast to endure.
Give us your love that as the years increase
an understanding heart may bring us peace.
Give us your purity that the hour of death
finds us untouched by evil’s breath.
Give us your love of labor
that we shirk no lot in life that calls us for honest work.
Give us your love of poverty so that we live contented,
let wealth come or go.
Give us your courage that we may be strong;
give us your meekness to confess our sins.
Give us your patience that we may possess the kingdom
of our souls without distress.
Help us, dear Saint,
to live that when life ends
we pass with you to Jesus and His friends.
O Glorious Saint Joseph,
hear our prayers and obtain our petitions.
Amen.
Saint Joseph, pray for us!
